David's Ribs

 David's Ribs 

This is the recipe David perfected while we were living in the yellow house.  We started using the InstaPot in NC.   YUM


Yellow House Rib Rub

  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons salt
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup paprika


Yankee Ribs

1 package of country style boneless ribs from Costco (about 8 pounds).  

Cut the meat into serving size pieces. Coat each piece with the rub and place in a large bowl. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours.

Put 1 cup beef broth AND 1 1/2  teaspoons Hickory flavored Liquid Smoke (Wrights Brand) in the Instant Pot.

Put the metal trivet in the Instant Pot and place the pork on top. Cook on High Pressure for 60 minutes. Let the steam naturally dissipate and keep warm for another 60 minutes.

Serve with mashed potatoes, Boston Baked Beans, green beans, and CORN BREAD. 


Carolina BBQ Vinegar Sauce

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Cholula 
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups apple cider vinegar

Mix together in a jar.  Keeps in the refrigerator a long time.
